Divorce Mediation

A Different Way to Divorce

Divorce is difficult enough without turning every decision into a battle.

Mediation offers a more private, practical, and collaborative way to move forward. Instead of asking a judge to make decisions about your family, finances, and future, you and your spouse work with a neutral mediator to find solutions you can both accept.

You don't have to agree on everything before you begin. In fact, that's what mediation is for.

As your mediator, I help you identify the issues that need to be resolved, make sure you have the information necessary to make informed decisions, and guide you through the conversations and negotiations that can lead to an agreement.

We can work through the full range of issues that arise in divorce, including property and finances, parenting plans and schedules, child and spousal support, the family home, retirement accounts, and the many practical details that are unique to your family.

You Make the Decisions

In mediation, you remain in control.

I don't decide who wins or loses, and I don't impose a solution. My role is to help both of you understand the issues, explore your options, work through disagreements, and find a path forward.

Because I serve as a neutral mediator, I do not represent either spouse individually. You are always free to consult with your own attorney, and independent legal review of a final agreement is often a valuable part of the process.

You Don't Have to Be an "Amicable Divorce"

Mediation isn't only for couples who already agree.

You may disagree about money. You may have very different ideas about parenting. Communication may be difficult. There may be hurt, frustration, or uncertainty about what comes next.

Those disagreements don't necessarily mean that your divorce has to become a courtroom fight.

Mediation gives you a structured place to have difficult conversations, with a neutral professional helping you stay focused on the decisions that actually need to be made.

Moving Forward

The goal of mediation isn't to erase the disagreements that brought you here. It's to help you resolve the issues that stand between where you are now and where you want to go next.

For parents, there is another important consideration: your marriage may be ending, but your family continues. The agreements you make today can help create a foundation for how you will parent, communicate, and make decisions in the years ahead.

Divorce marks the end of one chapter. Mediation can help you approach the next one with greater clarity, dignity, and control.

Entertainment and Intellectual Property Mediation

With more than 15 years of experience as an entertainment and intellectual property attorney, Brooke brings an in-depth understanding of both the legal and practical issues that arise in creative industries.

Entertainment and IP disputes are often about more than money. They can involve ownership, creative control, credit, reputation, long-term business relationships, and future opportunities. These competing interests can make traditional litigation particularly difficult—and can also make mediation especially valuable.

Brooke mediates disputes involving matters such as:

  • Music, recording and publishing agreements

  • Copyright and intellectual property

  • Licensing and royalty disputes

  • Artist, producer, songwriter and management agreements

  • Creative collaborations and partnerships

  • Contract interpretation and performance

  • Ownership and revenue-sharing disputes

  • Entertainment and media business relationships

Her industry experience allows the mediation to focus not only on the legal positions of the parties, but also on the business realities and creative considerations that may be necessary to reach a workable resolution.

Business & Contract Mediation

Business disputes can quickly become expensive and disruptive, particularly when the parties have an ongoing relationship or share financial interests.

Brooke mediates a variety of business and contractual disputes, including disagreements between business partners, service providers, independent contractors, clients, and other parties to commercial agreements.

Mediation creates an opportunity to look beyond the narrow question of who is legally “right” and explore solutions that may preserve value, resolve uncertainty, and allow the parties to move forward.

Landlord-tenant disputes can involve significant financial and practical concerns for both sides. Mediation provides landlords and tenants with an opportunity to address those concerns directly and explore solutions tailored to their particular circumstances.

Depending on the dispute, mediation may address issues involving rent, security deposits, property condition, repairs, lease obligations, move-out terms, financial disputes, and other disagreements arising from the landlord-tenant relationship.

Estate Mediation

Estate disputes often involve more than legal and financial questions. They can be complicated by family history, grief, differing expectations, and longstanding disagreements—making mediation particularly well suited to resolving these sensitive conflicts.

Brooke mediates disputes involving trusts, estates, inheritances, distribution of property, disagreements among beneficiaries and family members, and other estate-related conflicts. With experience in estate planning as well as more than 15 years of legal negotiation, Brooke brings both legal perspective and a practical, empathetic approach to these matters.

Mediation gives families and other interested parties an opportunity to address the issues privately, understand one another’s concerns, and explore creative solutions while potentially avoiding the expense, delay, and additional strain of prolonged litigation.
